The newest collection of 5 Original Paintings.
You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory
Acrylic on Canvas (30×40)
The Art Deco Pantages Theatre in Hollywood opened its doors in 1930. This painting commemorates a few of my favorite LA haunts – its mystique a little more poignant in light of these shuttered times.
The Brothers Kray
Acrylic on Canvas (30×40)
“I have never felt a moment’s regret,” were Reggie Kray’s chilling last words as he was led to his fate. This piece, set in the ‘60s, juxtaposes the notorious East End brothers against London’s West End and the watchful eye of the the Old Bill.
Last In Line
Acrylic on Canvas (34×30)
This piece is a follow-up to ‘The Brothers Kray’ and set in the notorious nightclub, “The Double R,” where last in line is always an ambiguous predicament!
Acrylic on Canvas (45×30)
As in “Between Midnight and Dawn,” Quentin Tarantino’s influence makes a second appearance in this painting, inspired by Pulp Fiction and set against a backdrop of LA’s Chinatown.
Night and the City
Acrylic on Canvas (24×32)
San Francisco’s Castro Theatre, established in 1922, is a notoriously provocative landmark, whose cast of characters evolves after each passing decade. With prohibition stifling the foggy streets of ‘The City,’ it’s easy to disappear into thin air, but not always for long.
I am really pleased to announce I have just signed exclusive Palm Desert representation with one of El Paseo’s most well-established contemporary art galleries, ‘A Gallery’.
Located at: 73956 El Paseo B, Palm Desert, CA 92260
Next door to Maison Felice 20th Century Furnishings & Antique Collection, A Gallery Fine Art is one of only a handful of specifically contemporary-focused galleries in the desert cities. For over two decades, gallery directors Lisa Dempton and Claire Joles have exhibited national as well as international contemporary masters including figurative painter, Hessam Abrishami, Argentinian metaclassical still-life artist, Roberto Azank and Venetian Murano glassmaker, Afro Celotto, amongst many others.
A Gallery Fine Art, an El Paseo art gallery, has a well-earned reputation as an upscale, contemporary gallery that represents an impressive range of both.
El Paseo Artwalk
The renowned El Paseo Art Walk, a long-standing tradition on El Paseo, El Paseo offers a plethora of art galleries including A Gallery, Coda Gallery, J. Willott Gallery, Hohmann Fine Art, and Melissa Morgan Fine Art throughout the shopping district. As you stroll the street, feel free to stop at one of El Paseo’s outdoor restaurants for a perfect Palm Desert evening.
We are excited to announce the opening of AMERICAN NOIR PAINTINGS SHOP
11 Film Noir Inspired American Noir paintings are now exclusively available in Limited-Edition, Hand-Embellished Art Prints, from our new shop at American Noir Paintings.
The Editions, which we are offering in limited runs of 199 for the original sizes and 250 for smaller sizes, were hand chosen by me, through a combination of collector feedback and what I felt was best representative of some of my most provocative work.
My printers have done a beautiful job capturing every nuance of the original acrylics on canvas. In addition, all Giclees will be uniquely hand-embellished to accentuate the highlights and brush strokes of the original paintings. They are each signed and numbered, available as rolled archival canvas with a white border, or gallery-wrapped and stretched on kiln-dried stretcher bars, ready to hang on your wall.
As well, there are limited numbers of Artist Proofs available.
In the last couple years, I have received a multitude of requests for prints of my work, from collectors here and abroad; and while my original paintings on canvas will continue to be offered solely through my represented galleries, these 11 Limited Editions are an affordable way to own one of your favourite images with a uniquely personal touch, and I am always happy to dedicate or sign the backs of the prints upon request.
In Celebration of the Palm Springs International Film Festival we will be exhibiting at Richard Danskin GALLERIES.
